Call Me Fred is organising an evening of musical discoveries, DISCORAMA, on Wednesday 12 June 2019 at Water Rats, near King’s Cross St Pancras. This event will feature independent artists including two Belgian groups and one British artist: Alain Pire Experience, Behind the Pines and Joe Hicks.
Alain Pire Experience is a psychedelic rock group of three members from Marchin, in Wallonia. Their musical universe is inspired by Psych bands from the sixties such as Cream, Tomorrow, Beatles circa 66/67, Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd, Blossom Toes, The Syn, The Open Mind etc. They released their first album called “Cambridge” in 2014 and the second one, “Song from the 13th floor”, in 2017.
Behind the Pines is an alternative rock band from Brussels. The group was formed by 4 members in 2017. Their music could be described as a mix of modern sounds and rock ‘n’ roll roots and they cite Kings of Leon, Mona, Nothing But The Thieves among artists that inspire them. They have released an EP and their single “In the Mirror” is playing on Mint Radio and Classic21. The group is considered as a rising band in Belgium.
Joe Hicks is a British singer-songwriter from Newbury. He is getting more and more popular on radio playlists in the UK and he has received support from “BBC Introducing”. He will be joined by his band.
