Kitty Crowther was born in Brussels and lives in Wallonia in Belgium. She is half English from her father and half Swedish from her mother.
She has written and/or illustrated about forty books which have been translated into twenty languages.
In 2010, she won the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award from the Swedish Arts Council, for her contribution to “children’s and young adult literature in the broadest sense”. This prize is the world’s most prestigious prize for children’s literature.
